A straight fertiliser, unlike a compound, provides only one or two key nutrients, rather than a combination of many. The benefit of using a straight is that you can target very specific nutrient deficiencies in your soil. If your crops only require a boost of one particular nutrient, straights can also represent a much more economical option than blends or compounds.
